As if on a journey of return, two artists, Roc Parés and Sandra Rengifo, separated by an ocean and united by an unwavering mental connection, join forces to create two unpublished works based on proposals that are already present. On this occasion, they converse creatively in Topografías de las memoriasputting in dialogue the photographic, pictorial, and installation project Mayoral de acero: destajoby Sandra Rengifo in collaboration with Kostas Tsanakas, along with the interactive installation Maqueta entrenadaby Roc Parés. They create an experience through images, sounds, and smells, pointing out the stories of those whose voices have been silenced, and inviting us to reflect on memory and loss, ideals and disappointments. A process curated by Roberta Bosco and Fernando Cuevas Ulitzsch.

Roc Parés

Roc Parés Burguès (Ciudad de México, 1968) is a research artist in interactive communication. Committed to interdisciplinary culture, which he upholds for its potential to emancipate, he has explored the intersections between art, science, technology and society. His poetic and critical experimentation with digital media has been exhibited and published internationally. A PhD in Audiovisual Communication (UPF) and a bachelor of Fine Arts (UB). Honorary Artistic Creator of the National System of Art Creators (FONCA, Mexico).

Sandra Rengifo

Sandra Rengifo (Bogotá, 1979) plastic artist from the Academia Superior de Artes de Bogotá and Master in Visual Arts from theUniversidad Nacional de Colombia.

She currently teaches at the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana de Colombia, Universidad Jorge Tadeo Lozano and Universidad de los Andesas well as Art Director for dance, videos and feature films. Likewise, she has made museographic designs, video clips and curatorial projects for various artists and national and international entities. Her work as an audiovisual artist, photographer and painter has been exhibited in several spaces and events such as the Museo de Arte Moderno MAMBO, Museo de Arte Moderno de Medellín MAMM, Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Bogotá, Museo La Tertulia in Cali, Cinemateca Distrital in Bogotá, MAMU in Bogotá, L’ alternativa Film Festival in Barcelona, Danish Film Institute, Panorama Colombia Berlin Film Festival, Anhydrite Biennial of Medial Arts in Germany, among others.

Winner of the Nuevos Nombres Jóvenes Talentos of the Alliance Française 2010, Arte Cámara Award 2015 and Intermediate Trajectory Artist Creation Award of the Ministry of Culture of Colombia 2017, among other honorable mentions.

Kostas Tsanakas

Kostas Tsanakas (Athens, 1972) is a photographer based in Berlin. He grew up in a small town, scourged by the north wind and a low-intensity ethnic conflict. One day on the beach, his dad showed him what a diaphragm and what a fragment of time was. He studied Social Pedagogy in Germany, Arabic Philology and Islamic Sciences in Spain, Political Science in the UK, Czech Republic and Spain, and Conference Interpreting in Greece. He worked as a social worker, German teacher, bartender, translator, DJ and barman. His photos have been exhibited in various events in Colombia, Germany, Greece, North Macedonia, Spain, and the USA.

Roberta Bosco

Roberta Bosco is a journalist, exhibition curator, investigator and teacher, specialized in contemporary art, electronic art and digital culture. From 1998 she writes in the diary El País where for 12 years she signs a weekly section on art and new technologies. She is correspondent from Spain of Il Giornale dell’Arte, the main Italian magazine of art and collaborate in numerous publications. She has curated various digital art exhibitions in main institutions and museums (CCCB, Macba, DHub, Arts Santa Mònica, ARCOmadrid) and participate in many juries. Among her projects stand out: the exposition Orígens in the framework of ISEA 2022, the 27th International Symposium on Electronic Art, in Barcelona; Faces. A dialogue between the Collection Es Baluard and the Collection BEEP de Arte Electrónico in Es Baluard de Palma de Mallorca; the expanded and traveling show Donkijote.orgin the Laboral Centre d’Art i Creació Industrial de Gijón yConexión Remota in the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Barcelona (MACBA), the first net.art show in a Spanish museum.

Fernando Cuevas Ulitzsch

Fernando Cuevas Ulitzsch He is a cultural manager, curator and creator, expert in connecting the aesthetic expression of human experience with multiple audiences. As a generator of audiences and communities, his experience in musical programming, curatorship (musical and plastic), strategic communication and circulation with academic communities and artistic spaces and audiences, has allowed him to successfully lead processes of: re-launching of cultural spaces and initiatives, design, management and execution of artistic, musical and cultural programming, communicative visibility and inter-institutional relations.

Throughout his professional experience, he has continuously developed and exhibited his personal artistic work (photography, drawing, writing, sculpture and installation), which has been presented with great success in numerous galleries, cultural centers, museums and universities in Colombia and Europe, in more than 29 solo and group exhibitions. His 26 years of specialized work can put a lot of reasoning into an aesthetic experience, but the joy of a community, such as the Colombian one, when discovering new young and vibrant symphonic pieces, or the depths of a legacy and forgotten art, is what drives him and invites him to grow and pursue new challenges.
