Welcome september. We turn on the engines strongly!
Summer is coming to an end, but… when a September like the one we have in store at Panoràmic begins… we cannot have more than an immense desire to turn the engines on!
There is just over a month left for the Panoràmic Festival to kick off with the exhibitions and activities in Granollers, we will start on Thursday October 10, and then it will be followed by the openings of the other two venues of the festival: Barcelona on Thursday October 24 and Terrassa on Thursday November 14, but…. did you know that we have a first taste of the festival?
With the arrival of the biennial Manifesta 15 Barcelona Metropolitana, which kicks off this week in various locations surrounding Barcelona, we have woven together a co-production that we are very excited to announce…
“Les petites coses” (The Small Things) by the artists Alba G. Corral
A project created with much care that, playing with algorithms, interweaves technology with sensitivity, strength, and resilience, but also with memory and details…
“Les petites coses” (The Small Things) Alba G. Corral (2024)
Commissioned in collaboration between Manifesta 15 Barcelona Metropolitana and Festival Panoràmic.
La Tèrmica, Roca Umbert , Fàbrica de les Arts, Granollers
“Les Petites Coses” (The Small Things) is an abstract and generative audiovisual piece created through programming algorithms. The piece takes its name from statements made by Montse Cruz, one of the few women who worked at the chemical lab of Roca Umbert’s textile factory. She was the one who shared with the artist Alba G. Corral the experience of working life in the chemical laboratory room, a dark and gloomy space with a peculiar smell of iron that permeated the air of the room.
The piece takes its name from the statements made by Montse Cruz, one of the few women who worked in the chemical laboratory of the Roca Umbert textile factory. At the laboratory, Montse performed delicate and essential chemical tasks for the functioning of the factory such as collecting water samples to analyze from la Tèrmica, the power plant that supplied energy to the whole factory. Montse was the only woman with access to the building and she describes the experience of entering that room as dark, gloomy, with its charm infused with iron scents that permeated the air. As if time stood still.
The piece aims to transform this darkness into light and life, giving importance to the small things, as she says were what the few women who worked there did. Tasks of small things, those that require detail and care put into the details, attention, meticulous tasks.
For this reason, we are very excited to invite you fromSunday September 8to visit the installation ofd’Alba G. Corral atLa Tèrmica de Roca Umbert, Fàbrica de les Arts de Granollers as well as the rest of the works related toManifesta 15 Barcelona Metropolitana located in Granollers.

Have you ever visited La Tèrmica?
La Tèrmica is the interpretation center of the industrial past of the city of Granollers, the space where the steam and electricity production system of the old factory was located, which has remained intact over the years. This space is integrated into the MNACTC territorial system and the Xarxa de Turisme Industrial de Catalunya (XATIC) and was inaugurated in 2014.
Even if you already know this very special space…. You cannot miss it, it will be a sensorial experience!
