At the end of the first quarter of the 21st century, we find ourselves at a critical and painful turning point: society is increasingly focused on excluding others rather than strengthening common bonds. Our planet is on the edge, with growing social inequalities not only within societies but also between Western industrialized nations and the Global South.
“Like a Cyclone” is a book-length exposition of these pressing societal themes. It presents a narrative from visual artists and authors who utilize photography as a form of expression.
The exhibition is complemented by textbooks that delve into related topics using theoretical and analytical tools, including the radicalization of imagery, post-colonial debates, and critical reflections on Race, Gender, and Capitalocène.They are all available to reader-spectators.
