The project consists of highlighting the journey of images through postal correspondence in a single address between three places. Photographs from the Archive will be transformed into sculptural compositions along the journey from Casa Planas to 3C and Roca Umbert. In Palma de Mallorca, the artist chooses them, groups them, thinks about them and sends them daily to different Calce recipients. The following month, in Calce, these physical postcards are mixed with old family photographs of the inhabitants along with new digital landscape photographs of the area. The compositions travel with the artist to Granollers, where he will produce a free and indefinite assembly, adding reused materials, such as a piece of frame or a found suede.
Gadea Burgaz
Madrid, 1992. After studying architecture and fine arts, he works between various disciplines. From textiles to sculpture, from filming to painting, architecture, construction, from urban planning to landscape, theater, often written drawing, the movement of bodies and images, the face. Match things up. This is how he is faced with basic, ancient themes that are also contemporary. And the project emerges.
Graduated in architecture in 2017 from the Polytechnic University of Madrid, she finishes her studies with a master’s degree. He previously spent a year at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Madrid and another at the University of Tokyo, in Kengo Kuma’s laboratory. During 2019 he builds a pavilion with a friend for the Concentric Festival 05 in Logronyo, which is installed with another distribution at the Goethe-Institut in Madrid and the White Night event in Oviedo. In 2020, he held his first six-month artistic residency at WIELS, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Brussels.
