The war in Ukraine is just starting and from Panorámico we thought it would be appropriate to get in touch with the only photography school in the Ukrainian capital, the Kyiv Photo School. Forced to close for obvious reasons, students and teachers found themselves in exile, taking refuge or defending the city and country with arms. The images we offer you in this exhibition are made by these teachers, who are on the front line of fire and photograph the devastation and pain.

Dmitry Sakharov

Born in 1967. Graduated with honors from the Khmelnytsky School of Art. He received a higher biological education at Taras Shevchenko National University in Kyiv. Biological knowledge of human brain activity helps to visually explain the principles of image perception. He graduated from the postgraduate course of the Institute of Experimental Pathology, Oncology, Radiobiology bearing the number of RE Kavetsky of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. For 15 years he worked as an art director at «059 media company» in Kyiv. He has been working at the Kyiv School of Photography since 2010. In the school of photography, he teaches lessons related to the processing and design of photographic projects, and his lectures are also dedicated to the promotion of professional photographers in the market of photographic services. Curator of the “Golden Award” International Photography Award.

Igor Chervonenko

He’s been doing photography for a long time, since the days of analog film. His creative photographic experience today amounts to miles of footage and terabytes of digital images. With his camera, he visited more than forty countries around the world, photographing streets, architecture, landscapes and people. Besides travel photography, one of his favorite genres is wildlife photography.

His wildlife photos were taken in Kenya and Tanzania and published in National Geographic. He held a series of personal exhibitions: at the National Museum of Science and Natural History of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, at the Republican Planetarium.

As a PENTAX RICOH ambassador, he had developed a series of techniques for photographing wildlife in natural conditions.

In addition to photography, you are interested in biochemistry. More than 20 of his scientific publications in this area are available in American and European scientific journals.

Konstantin Sova

Founder of the Kyiv School of Photography, Sony ambassador. Practicing reporting and studio photographer in Kyiv. He has been teaching photography since 2000. Organizer of the international photo award “Golden Camera” and Ukrainian photo contests “Black and White Mood”. Curator and organizer of collective exhibitions of photography school graduates: “On the Golden Roads of Georgia”, “Cuba: Back to the Past”, “Black and White Mood”, “Spring Amsterdam”, “On the Edge of Europe”. Leader and inspirer of photographic trips around the world with alumni of the school.

In his work, Konstantin pays special attention to social issues. Well-known reports were presented at a photo exhibition about the miners of Donbass – “Coal portraits” 2011; photo exhibition – “Crimea. War without shots”, photographic project – “Maidan. Chronology in faces” and “Maidan. Warriors of Light”, photo project – “Ukraine is not rooted” 2014.

He is currently a military photographer on the eastern front of the Ukrainian War.
