«Los coros menores» merges the waste of the globalized world with Hispanic and indigenous references transformed by mass culture—what García Canclini calls ‘hybrid cultures.’
Demian Schopf
Demian Schopf (Frankfurt, 1976) visual artist, PhD in philosophy with mention in aesthetics. He has worked in photography, video and installations based on programs that process, analyze and generate text based on internet searches in installation formats. The subject matter of his works revolves around issues related to social political imaginaries and technologies of representation alluding to language and image.
He is very interested in the Andean Baroque and its current drifts, full of hybridity and references that can be called global. He has also worked with prison weapons in operations associated with orthodox conceptualism renewed by the introduction of elements of illegality to the world of ready made.
